The 1st Step to Self-Empowerment: What Do You Want?

Greetings Divine child —
What do you want in life? What do you truly want?
In order to create the life of your dreams, you first need to clarify what that life looks like. Because the first step to self-empowerment is knowing what you want.
Remember, you already know what you want. You may not feel like it, but deep down, you know what you want because deep down, you know your truth. You know what you like and what you don't like, and you know what serves you and what doesn't.
If you feel like you don't know what it is that you want, know that that is just your ego in the driver's seat. When your ego is behind the wheel, it will hide certain information from you—like what you want in life—which may lead you to feel lost. The ego's fear-based programming is designed to protect you, which keeps you safe, but if you let the ego drive forever, you end up living your life but get nowhere—evolutionarily.
What you truly want comes from deep within you. I am not talking about what you think others want you to want, or what you want to obtain in order to feel loved or accepted by others in your social groups, but to truly know what it is you want out of life.
So, how do you figure out what you want? You listen. Like I said before, you already know your truth. All you need to do is breathe, center yourself in the present moment, and ask: what do I want? The answer may not arrive right away, but when it does, you'll know it. You'll feel it. That is your intuition at work.
The answer that comes to the surface first is usually the truth. Try not to second guess this answer, just listen to it. Maybe write it down. Notice how it feels when you repeat the answer back to yourself. Take another breath and say, "I want..." Again, notice how it feels. Listen to your body. The body is always in the present moment, communicating your truth to you through sensations. It may be a small reaction to your thought, or it may be quite noticeable, but the sensation will reveal the truth of how you really feel about what you are thinking.
If you don't hear or notice anything right away, keep practicing. Give yourself time. If it helps, start by outlining what it is that you don't want. Don't spend too much time thinking or talking about what you don't want—remember, like vibration attracts like vibration—just use this knowledge as a foundation for figuring out what you do want. There is no need to judge yourself as you do this, just get the answers down so you can see them and then rework them into what you want. It doesn't have to make sense, and it doesn't have to be perfect. Just be honest.
If you're still struggling to gain clarity on what you want, it may help to look to your past. What past experiences make you smile when you think about them? What are you grateful for? What do you want more of in your future?
Again, it may be easier to notice past experiences you didn't like. What sort of memories evoke unpleasant emotions? How can you use that knowledge to craft an image of what you do want? If something happened in your past that made you feel trapped, declare that what you want is freedom. And then focus on the feeling of freedom and allow it into your reality.
To continue to gain clarity on what you want so that you can create and allow the life you desire, it may help to keep a journal. Note where you are in your journey so that you can monitor your progress. And when you know what it is you truly want, write it down.
Remember, you have great power within you. You are capable of anything!
